When it comes to building a new custom home, is it better to have two levels or one? It’s fair to say it really depends on your sense of style and on your needs. However, have you ever compared floor plans to illustrate the difference? Let’s compare two different floor plans taken right out of our brochure which is available for free on our site. Both floor plans below are right around 2,500 square feet, so there’s not a big difference in size. It’s the location of the rooms specifically the bedrooms that makes the two plans so different.
Covington is a 2,588 square foot home with a main level master bedroom and 2 additional bedrooms on the second level. This home has an abundance of class. The three reverse gables with return gables add style. Upon entering the foyer, you will know that you are not in an ordinary home. The front formal dining room leads to the kitchen area with a unique layout that is open to the breakfast and 2 story great room area. There is also a mudroom between the kitchen and the garage with ample closet space and a laundry room area. This home features a first floor master bedroom with a walk in closet plus his and hers closets. The master bath features a whirlpool tub in a bump out with a window. The open staircase, with an abundance of railing, leads you to the second floor with railing over looking the great room. There is a loft area that also overlooks the great room. There are a total of 2 ½ baths with an unfinished bonus room located above the garage.
Ashton allows everything to be on one level, The Ashton is a 2,219 square foot home that offers 4 bedrooms and 2 baths—with no stairs at all. It also has a 2-car garage. This ranch style home has New England charm with beautiful roof lines, two dormers
and stone accents. The covered porch invites you into the foyer and the open concept floor plan. There is a formal study with French doors and the great room and dining room flow nicely together for entertaining purposes. Just off of the great room, you will pass through patio doors that lead you onto your covered patio. The kitchen is uniquely designed with a builder’s pantry, large nook and a laundry room off of the kitchen and 2 car garage. The master bedroom has a large walk in closet, stand alone shower and a whirlpool tub. For privacy purposes, we have designed this home to have the additional bedrooms on the opposite side of the home.
