Floors are an important part of your home building process. Choosing the right flooring is key when looking at your overall home design. You want to go with something that fits within your budget but that also is going to last. In this month’s blog, we wanted to talk about the differences between sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl planks, and natural hardwood. Let’s discuss.
Sheet Vinyl
While sheet vinyl has come a long way, it is still limited in style, durability and longevity. With sheet vinyl you are forced to go with the style and look that is already laid out. Besides this, it is not as easy to repair. Should a cut or tear happen within your sheet vinyl, you can’t just pull one section out and fix it, you would need to replace the whole floor. However, sheet vinyl is water resistant, easy to clean and provides a soft surface underfoot!
Luxury Vinyl
Luxury Vinyl comes in planks and tiles and they keep continuing to advance in design, quality and overall value. Luxury vinyl has a lot of different looks to choose from and depending on the brand, some come as glue down, others are lock-together, floating floors. A benefit in luxury vinyl is that it is much easier to repair. Should an issue arise and a section needs to be repaired, depending on the style, the damaged piece can be replaced with another piece.
Natural Hardwood
If you’re looking for a real wood look and feel, natural hardwood is the way to go. Keep in mind, both sheet vinyl and luxury vinyl do have the options of the hardwood look, however it is not the same. Natural hardwood has a stately look and many homeowners are drawn to it. Natural hardwood also adds value to your home and looks great with any decor!
