Initial Consultation and Meeting

After you have closed with the lender and permits have been obtained, Abigail steps in to schedule the Selections Meeting. Typically, these meetings are set from Tuesday to Thursday starting as early as 8 AM and potentially lasting until 3-4 PM depending on the house size and requirements.

Before the meeting, Abigail reviews notes from previous interactions you had with our sales representative, Alana. She gathers information about your needs, preferences, and your wants based on your contract. Upon your initial contact with Abigail, she will begin to discuss the look and feel you want to achieve in your home. It is important to communicate if there are design concepts you would like to see in your home.

Reviewing the Build and Blueprints

The first task in your meeting with Abigail, is reviewing the steps of your build-to-be. It is important as the homeowner to understand the process hence why it is the first step. This is a great time to ask questions to be sure you understand each step. Next, is to walk through and confirm the blueprints. This involves checking the basic layout, dimensions, and any pre-selected features.

This is the perfect time to make any final changes you wish to make, such as moving walls or altering room layouts. A draftsman is always present to help visualize these changes and ensure that what you envision is feasible.

Exploring the Exterior Elevations

The construction timeline was reviewed and blueprints approved, now Abigail will start with your Exterior Selections. These next steps include choosing siding, stone, and roofing, as well as lighting and outlets. Through this process we help you to think about not only the overall aesthetic, but the functionality of your house. Abigail will help you achieve the desired curb appeal of your home from dusk to dawn.

Let’s Walk Through Your Interior

As the focus shifts to the interior of your home, Abigail will begin to hone in your style and taste, while keeping in mind your budget. You will walk the floors of the showroom with Abigail picking items for your home such as flooring for all the rooms, trim and molding, or paint. As she takes you into our Kitchen and Bathroom displays, you can envision your future cabinetry and countertops. And, oh let us not forget, your door knobs, handles, and hinges.

Once you have selected each thoughtful design element for your home, Abigail will dive into your lighting. Here you can map the layout for your future lights, outlets, even Ethernet and cable jacks.

Hang in there, we are almost finished.

Custom Features and Upgrades

Before reviewing all your selections, Abigail will double check your contract to make sure nothing was missed. There are many custom features you might want. Is a central vacuum system, home security system, or custom-built mudroom on your want list? This is the time to make sure to include those as well.

Time to Review and Adjust the Budget

At the end of your meeting, Abigail will review all your choices with you before having you sign off on them. Once you since off, she will provide a detailed pricing sheet that lists your upgrades and their costs. Abigail will review this with you in depth, allowing time for adjustments and deciding what works best for your budget.

Signing Off

You are all set and love your choices! It is time to finalize your selections to ensure we can begin ordering product in a timely manner.  Signing off on the Selection Sheets helps us to avoid any misunderstandings later on and so all your selections are documented in case you would ever need them in the future. Something like flooring or siding can easily be damaged over time and to have that documented information is extremely beneficial for the longevity of your home.

Post-Selections Adjustments

Oh no, there’s a change. What happens now? If you need to make any last-minute changes or additions, Abigail is always available to assist. The earlier you communicate with Abigail, the better. She acknowledges that this can be an overwhelming process, and sometimes you will think of things as you start to see the house become a home.
