What is À La Carte?
We at Welbilt Homes let you choose your own options we do not choose for you, by including them in our standard features realizing that each customer has different needs and wants. The materials we use in our standard options are NOT entry level builder grade features.
Allowances and how they work:
Allowances are usually given to those who choose to do options different from the standard spec’s such as, kitchen cabinets, counter tops, flooring, etc. We do not pre-select options or special features according to our buying power or this month’s special that our supplier is offering us. This is what we call À La Carte options. Welbilt is not a development builder we are the true definition of a custom home builder. During the preliminary stages of the planning of your future home we choose to speed up that process by first using allowances so that our customers can start the financing process right away. This also allows time for the planning stages (preliminary plans) to be drafted to a set of final building plans that will not only fit your needs but fit your budget. These “Final Building Plans” are now used to give exact pricing, removing the allowance aspect, and having actual pricing on your options ie: Kitchen, flooring, etc.
This business model has served Welbilt Homes for well over 32 years! It speeds up the entire building process up by several weeks. Each allowance is based on a definitive estimated amount, after the final plans have been drawn and all measurements are on the plans and selections have been made.
In the end, any allowance amount that may have not been used are credited back to your account giving you a total transparency for that particular option.
